Robert: I like the challenge. I like how it’s not the same every day. You get something new every day.
Jen: The teams here are pretty amazing. You know, especially coming from the smaller shop, I really appreciate the teams. Whether it’s assembly or, specifically for me, machining, everything seems to move really smoothly because of it.
Robert: I love the people. I love the shop environment. Really couldn’t think of a better shop environment or people to work with.

Chase: The environment. I mean people have got their bad days but it seems like just most people here are positive. They want to help you learn. They want to do a good job, get the job done, and go home to our families. It’s just seamless. It seems to just work.
What is the training like at C.R. Onsrud?
Robert: The camaraderie is great. I was a fresh kid coming in here. I never worked in a shop environment or anything, and the guys took me under their wing, toughened my skin al little bit, and it would be … I hate that cliche it seems like family but it really does.
Chase: You’re going to be helped out. You’ll be taught things. You’ll be guided.
Scott: It takes a little time to learn it, and it just depends on how fast you learn. Some people learn it faster than others. It took me a good three years before I was really comfortable with doing everything.

What makes you proud to work at C.R. Onsrud?
Chase: I can knock out three or four assemblies, get a machine halfway done or something of that nature, throw some decals on, and they’re perfectly straight, you feel accomplished, pretty much every day when you leave here, because you’ve done something. You did something.

Scott: Seeing the machines after they’re built, looking at it and knowing you’ve done all of that from nothing but a piece of metal to putting it all together and making it run. I kind of get a little pride out of that.
Bryant: The one thing that I’m proud of, I honestly can say, is putting that American flag sticker on the cabinet.

Matt: Once you see the machines turn on, they run, and what they do, the tight tolerances and the things that they cut. And you see them go out to these places that they sell these machines to and the things that they make with them is very interesting and rewarding.
Jordan: The longer I stay here, the more I actually love what I do, and it’s turning more into a passion each and every day.

What does it take to be successful at C.R. Onsrud?
Matt: To be successful at Onsrud, you have to have drive, motivation, self-motivation.
Robert: You need to be focused. Driven.
Scott: Shoot, determination.
Chase: Open minded, willing to learn.
Matt: You have to have a really good work ethic. Pay attention to detail. You have got to pay attention to detail. There’s a lot of detail here.
Jen: Attention to detail is a very big thing. A positive attitude, really in any field will help.
Robert: What you need to be successful at Onsrud, you need a good attitude and a willingness to learn.
