Customize your machine with accessories. Here you’ll find ways to increase your productivity by adding a 4th axis to a 3-axis machine or continuous C-axis to a 5-axis machine; select your tool and machine lubrication; eliminate measuring errors with automatic tool measurement systems; and more.

C-AXIS
With a C-Axis (aka 4th axis), you can machine at an angle, including on the sides of your material, to create complex contours (such as helixes), otherwise not possible with a 3-axis machine. This comes standard on a 5-axis machine.

CONTINUOUS C-AXIS
With continuous C-Axis, a 5-axis machine gets unrestricted rotational movement of the C-axis. Without this option, a traditional 5-axis spindle has to unwind itself after a set amount of rotation.

AIR BLAST
Bursts of air keep tools cool and remove debris and chips from the cut without the need for coolant.

MQL
Primarily used for metals, Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL) dispenses only the amount of lubricant needed for your specific operation to keep tools cool and improve cut quality.

DIRECTIONAL AIR BLAST
Directional air blast blows air on the tooltip to aid in removing debris and cool tools. The direction of air changes relative to the path of the machine. It can be turned on/off via M-Code.

FLOOD COOLANT
Flood coolant absorbs the heat from high-intensity milling and removes the debris from your workpiece.

THROUGH-SPINDLE COOLANT
Through-spindle coolant prevents tools from softening from the excessive heat generally caused by deep drilling or heavy cutting operations in nonferrous metals.

ATLM SYSTEM (METROL)
Precisely measures the length of your tool and automatically feeds that value into your CNC machine controls.

ATLM SYSTEM: TS27R (RENISHAW)
Precisely measures the length and diameter of your tool and automatically feeds that value into your CNC machine controls. It also detects if a tool is broken.

ATLM: NC4 (RENISHAW)
Precisely measures the length and diameter of your tool, without contact, and automatically feeds that value into your CNC machine controls. It also detects if a tool is broken. NC4 is application dependent; table constraints may apply.

AUTOMATIC GREASE LUBRICATION
Automatically greases your tools, bearings, and ball screws at regular intervals.

GREASE DRIP PANS
Drip pans (a.k.a. trays) catch excess lubrication that might otherwise cause contamination or other hazards.

LINEAR ENCODER (SCALES)
With noncontact sensing, linear encoders (scales) measure and monitor linear movement, position, and speed and provide that feedback to your CNC machine.

VOLUMETRIC LASER COMPENSATION
With volumetric laser compensation, machining tools are automatically calibrated and the machine makes any necessary adjustments.
Note: Depending on your machine, C.R. Onsrud sends out a third-party A2LA-accredited company to your facility to perform volumetric compensation.
Dust collection systems collect chips, dust, and other airborne particles that would otherwise be harmful to humans and the machining environment. We offer dust collection systems that are geared toward the materials you’re machining and your production environment.

DUST HOOD
Targeted to the machining area, a dust hood suctions away dust and debris that can impact your health as well as the performance of your CNC machine.
Note: Due to the range of motion required for 5-axis machines, a machine enclosure is recommended over a dust hood.

SERVO HOOD™
With CR Onsrud’s innovative servo-positioned dust hood, we have improved upon the standard 2-position dust hood and given the CNC machine the ability to automatically adjust the dust hood’s height offset based on tool length, relative to the workpiece. This helps customers, who machine with a variety of tool lengths, get the most effective dust collection regardless of the tool length.

DUST STANCHION KIT
Designed for low ceilings and shop floors with layout constraints, a dust collection stanchion kit transitions dust to your collector from either side of the machine.

FLOATING DUCT
A floating duct reduces the drag of vacuum hoses and ductwork on long travel machines and moves the hoses out of the way of overhead cranes and forklift loaders. See this video to see how.

DUST TROUGH
The dust trough system uses air from your vacuum to safely pull dust and debris away from the underside of the cutting area. It is engineered for 5′ wide machines and needs to be manually cleaned or integrated with a dust collection system.

OVERHEAD OFFLOAD DUST HOOD
Targeted to the machining area, a dust hood suctions away dust and debris that can impact your health as well as the performance of your CNC machine.

BELLOWS ON X, Y, Z
Bellows (covers) keep abrasive materials out of your motion-controlled components.

AIR KNIFE
Engineered especially for fine or coarse chips (e.g., hard composites, fiber cement, metal, etc.), programmable air knives clear harmful debris from your linear guides.

GANTRY BAR CURTAIN
Safety curtains set an invisible barrier that triggers your machine’s E-Stop when crossed.

GANTRY SHROUD
A gantry shroud encloses the gantry to prevent unexpected objects (i.e., a broken part or tool) from discharging into adjacent work areas.

GANTRY ENCLOSURE
The gantry enclosure surrounds the gantry to protect you from potentially dangerous routing components and operations as well as the dust and debris caused by routing.

REAR ENCLOSURE
Partial standalone enclosures provide additional safety when the back of a machine is not against a wall.

FULL ENCLOSURE WITH OR WITHOUT A ROOF
A fully enclosed machine contains debris, reduces noise levels, protects your electronics and mechanical drives from both wet and dry machining, and safely isolates the operator from the machining zone and airborne particles.

RETRACTABLE BELLOWS ROOFING SYSTEM
A bellow roof covers the top section of your machining mill to completely enclose it and contain debris. It can retract to give unobstructed access to a forklift or overhead crane and it can adjust with the movement of your spindle or gantry.

EXTENDED TRAVEL (SINGLE FRAME)
With the extended shuttle table, one table exits an enclosed machine for safe unloading and reloading while the other table continues to process material inside the machine.

EXTENDED PARK (MULTI-FRAME)
The extended shuttle table gives you a work area to safely unload parts.

MANUAL SLIDING DOORS
These doors are manually controlled by you for access to the machine’s enclosure. For safety purposes, the doors should be closed when the machine is in operation.

AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOORS
These doors are activated and controlled by PMC servo motors. For safety purposes, the machine is placed in a feed hold state if the doors are not properly closed.

CHIP PANS
Located beneath the machine’s vacuum table, chip pans collect dust and debris from the work environment. These can be manually cleaned or integrated with a dust collection system.

AUTOMATIC ROLL-UP DOORS
These doors are activated and controlled by PMC servo motors and raise upward as opposed to opening to the sides of the machine. For safety purposes, the machine is placed in a feed hold state if the doors are not properly closed.

CHIP AUGERS
Used for materials that require flood coolants, chip augers funnel chips to the conveyor where they are removed from the machine’s enclosure and into a chip bin.

CHIP CONVEYORS
The chip conveyor carries away end cuts and other debris from your workspace.

ENCLOSURE DUST COLLECTION PORTS
Dust collection ports are integrated with your vacuum system to move dust and debris away from the work area.

CENTER PARTITION
With the partition in place, the machine is split into two separate zones, so you can safely load/unload parts in the unused zone. Pivot the partition against the wall and the machine resumes operation across the entire table.
Additional safety features, tailored to a shop’s specific production and setup, help keep operators from injury and prevent machine damage.

LASER SAFETY SCANNER
The Onsrud Laser Safety Scanner sets an invisible barrier that triggers your machine’s E-Stop when crossed.

PERIMETER FENCING
Perimeter fencing provides safety boundaries to protect workers from dangerous machining areas.

SENSING MATS
Sensing mats sense the pressure of an operator or object on them, alerting the machine to turn off.

AUTOMATION
Automated material-handling systems fit the flow of your production to make manufacturing processes more efficient and safe. See Automation for more details about Onsrud automated solutions.
Configured for fast panel processing applications.
Let our integrated automated material-handling infeed systems do the heavy lifting (literally!). You can stage and load materials onto the machine bed, even if you’re a solo operator.

STATIC PRE-STAGE TABLE WITH OR WITHOUT PUSHER
Automatically reloads the scissor lift with another bunk of material prior to the first bunk running out. Since your material load is always stocked, you never have to synchronize your forklift timing or stop production.

REAR LOADER
The rear loader uses vacuum to lift material from the back of the CNC machining table enabling an operator to safely and automatically load heavy materials.

REAR GANTRY INFEED (SUCTION)
Using suction technology, the vacuum lift is a portable system that enables a single operator to safely and automatically load heavy materials.

SCISSOR LIFT (HALF BUNK LOADER)
With a half bunk loader (a.k.a. “scissor lift”) system, your machine picks up one sheet from a stack, places it into position, and then adjusts its height to prepare for the next sheet.

SCISSOR LIFT (FULL BUNK LOADER)
With a full bunk loader (a.k.a. “scissor lift”) system, your machine picks up one sheet from a full stack, places it into position, and then adjusts its height to prepare for the next sheet.

SIDE LOADER
The side loader uses vacuum to lift material from the side of the CNC machining table enabling an operator to safely and automatically load heavy materials.
Our automated material-handling outfeed systems keep your machine actively cutting materials without interruption. Integrated with our industrial CNC machinery, your products come off the machine immediately ready to be delivered.

PUSHER SWEEPER
The pusher automatically clears the machining area by moving parts to an offload table while the sweeper sucks up any additional dust and debris.

STATIC OUTFEED
A static outfeed table provides a work area for sorting and stacking parts without interrupting the machining operations.

CONVEYOR OUTFEED
Safely and automatically moves parts (e.g., heavy and bulky ones) down your machine’s production line for easy off-loading.

An aggregate gives your 3-axis machine the capability of machining at various angles and the use of 1000’s of speciality tools to perform specialized functions for unique projects. Not all aggregate tooling is available Here are a few of our most popular aggregates:

AGGREGATE RING
The Aggregate Anti-Rotational Retention Ring mounts to the underside of the spindle, giving it the capability to pick up specialized tooling from the Automatic Tool Changer and preventing the aggregate head from rotating during machining.

90° HEAD
A 90° head gives you the capability to perform lateral machining operations on a 3-axis machine.

DUO 90° HEAD
A Duo 90° head gives you the capability to perform lateral machining operations using different tools in opposite directions on a 3-axis machine.

QUAD 90° HEAD
With a Quad 90° head, you’ll easily add lateral machining operations to your 3-axis machine using four tools in each direction.

ADJUSTABLE ANGLE
An adjustable angle head allows you to set the angle at which you want to cut, for up to 5-sided machining on a 3-axis machine.

FLEX ANGLE
With a flex angle head, you can perform horizontal and angular machining operations on a 3-axis machine without having to reposition your workpiece.

MOULDER HEAD
Mill, plane, carve, and bevel, symmetrical and asymmetrical shapes on a 3-axis machine, with the addition of a moulder head aggregate.

OSCILLATING KNIFE
Cut out sharp corners and radii from flexible materials, such as packaging foam, tool foam, plastic, or cardboard with an oscillating knife aggregate.
Attach a saw blade to a CNC machine to create intricate notches, miter cuts, and straight cuts on up to five sides of your material on a 5-axis machine or by outfitting a 3-axis machine with an aggregate. The saw can also be used as a cutoff tool.

SMALL DIAMETER SAW BLADE
(up to 6″)
The spindle automatically picks up and returns small diameter saw blades (up to 6″) from the station that is mounted on the machine’s bridge or column.
Note: (Requires a 5-axis machine unless an aggregate is utilized)

DEDICATED AGGREGATE STATION
With a dedicated aggregate station, you can automatically store and retrieve specialty tools (such as saw blades) that are too large or heavy to fit in a standard automatic tool changer.

400mm DEDICATED STATION
With a dedicated aggregate station, you can automatically store and retrieve a 400mm saw blade.

550mm DEDICATED STATION
With a dedicated aggregate station, you can automatically store and retrieve a 550mm saw blade.
WORK HOLDING & POSITIONING
These devices accurately locate your workpiece in orientation to the table and the tooling. To properly secure your workpieces, it is important to have the correct work-holding device for the material you are cutting. This ensures precise and efficient machining.

CUSTOM VACUUM ZONES
With custom vacuum zones, you tailor the size and location of vacuum areas for part-holding and can shut off sections of the table to concentrate vacuum to specific zones.

ONSRUD MATRIX GRID TABLE
The Onsrud grid table provides a grid pattern for multiple part-holding options, such as gasketing, vacuum pods, clamps, etc. and is compatible with most third-party products.

CUSTOM / MECHANICAL FIXTURING TABLE
Custom fixturing is adapted to hold irregularly shaped parts or panels that cannot be held by traditional methods.

T-SLOT
The channels of T-Slot tables are used for linear positioning of clamps and vices across the surface of the machine’s table.

POD & RAIL
A pod & rail system directs vacuum through the pods for strong part-holding as well as raises parts for boring holes or cutting into the side of a part. It can also serve as a flat table.

LATHE (ROTARY)
With a rotary axis lathe or chuck, your machine operates as a turning center with live tuning. It rotates bar stock and long and skinny components to create chair legs, columns, etc.

ROLLER HOLD-DOWN
Roller hold-down uses rollers to apply pressure to the top of your material for additional hold and flattening of stacked, warped, or porous materials.
Note: This option is common for plywood processing, foam panel processing, and composite sheet processing.

VISION RECOGNITION (FIDUCIAL)
A fiducial vision recognition system scans for reference points to identify a sheet’s position. The program and tool paths automatically adjust to the position.
Note: This option is common in the signmaking industry where sheets are otherwise difficult to align perfectly.

LASER PATTERN PROJECTION SYSTEM
Without touching the material, a Laser Pattern Projection Alignment System provides true to scale patterns of one or several aligned or nested objects, transferred from CAD software onto the CNC table.
Note: This option is common for high-mix shops and when using vacuum pods.

REFERENCE (POP-UP) PINS
Reference pins are for quick, reliable, and repeatable placement of your workpieces on your CNC machine.

SURFACE PROBE
A surface probe or part finder helps your machine accurately identify the position of your material on your worktable.

PROBING
(RENISHAW PROBE)
A part-probing system adjusts the origin of your part prior to machining, performs in-process QC for tight tolerance applications, and performs post-machining QC to approve or reject a part before it is taken out of its work holding.

PENDULUM MODE
TABLE READY & RESUME BUTTONS
Quickly restart (resume) paused programs and prepare (ready) the machine to start immediately after a process is complete.
Specialized equipment enables manufacturers to make tailor-made framework parts from profile aluminum extrusions (hollow beam, square, RCW, SD, door section, T-section, and louver).

CLAMP POSITIONING MANUAL (X-LED)
An Extrusion-Grip™ option, your operator manually relocates clamps to LED-highlighted positions which are determined by the program.

CLAMP POSITIONING GANTRY (X-Gantry)
An Extrusion-Grip™ option, upon program startup, your machine automatically traverses and relocates each clamp to its pre-programmed position using a gantry-mounted relocation pin.

CLAMP POSITIONING SERVO
An Extrusion-Grip™ option, upon program startup, your machine automatically relocates each clamp to its pre-programmed position using servo motors that are individually located on each clamp.

QUICK-CHANGE SOFT JAWS
The quick-change soft jaws allow you to machine custom soft jaws for your specific profiles and quickly change from one to the other.

MATERIAL STOPS
Material Stops (or backstops) help position your workpiece by limiting how far the workpiece can travel.
