AMERICAN MANUFACTURER SHOWCASES CNC INNOVATIONS AT DEMO DAY 2026

Opening its doors on March 25, 2026, C.R. Onsrud (Troutman, NC), manufacturer of American-made CNC machinery, brought together over 200 attendees, including CNC vendors, experienced users of CNC equipment, and novices.

The company featured over a dozen live demonstrations, enabling attendees to experience CNC technology firsthand. “We tried to have something for everyone, so we used a wide range of materials, processing techniques, and machine types,” said Jeff Onsrud, Director of Sales & Business Development.

On the A-Series machine — the newest machine in the C.R. Onsrud lineup — they showed how to make MDF 3D wall panels, aluminum gears, and PVC sign letters. They also made linear profile extrusion components and a phenolic tool bench organizer (M-Series), a melamine cabinet nest (T-Series), and plywood furniture frames (RH-Series). Additionally, they demonstrated steel cutting and friction stir welding (CH-Series) as well as several other CNC processing techniques.

By adding a 83,000-square-foot building to their campus last year, the company was able to accommodate more visitors and hopes to grow the attendance even more next year. “We’re glad we have the space to invite more visitors and vendors. It’s important to offer events that keep manufacturers connected and sharing ideas,” said Thomas Tuck, Sr. Manager of Regional Sales and Marketing Initiatives.

The event included a factory tour and a demonstration of the Inverted Router, which is the invention by Charlie Onsrud that launched the company 50 years ago. In a celebration, Tom Onsrud spoke about the 50-year journey: from small pin routers to CNC machines which range from 2′x2′ to 20′x100′+.

On the S-Series, the single table moves longways under the bridge, an ergonomic design that gives operators unobstructed access to three sides of the table for easy loading and unloading of large workpieces and tooling. It also allows for the easy integration of material-handling systems, transfer tables, and a wide range of automation alternatives.
