About the Job:

 

C.R. Onsrud Applications Engineers provide superior levels of service and technical support to new and existing C.R. Onsrud CNC Machine Customers. Successful candidates for this position must possess a good working knowledge of Electrical principles, and should have an ability to troubleshoot technical CNC problems, and be able to replace circuitry and components.

Experience and Skills:

 

Sales Engineering Support

 

Prepare CNC operational demonstrations for Customers/Sales Engineers;

Travel required to client facilities, as well as to industry trade shows;

Communicate and assist Sales Engineers;

Conduct CNC application time studies;

Machine Application Engineering

 

Hands-on mechanical engineering;

Troubleshoot (software/mechanics);

Train customers onsite and in-house;

Build/Repair Machines;

Realign, repair, remove and/or replace CNC parts;

CNC installations;

CNC Servicing;

Phone Support

 

In-bound call resolution and problem solving;

Record notes; update knowledge database;

Determine problem resolution approach;

Remotely diagnose machine/software problems;

Pursue up-sell opportunities;

Administrative

 

Reporting- expenses, service, technical, installation checklist;

Coordinate some travel arrangements;

On-going/continuous training;

Weekly technical meeting;

Customer relations;

Work Experience Requirements:

 

CNC Router mechanical & functionality knowledge;

Controls knowledge (AMC CMC, B&R, OSAI, etc.);

CAD/CAM software (Alphacam, Mastercam, etc.);

High level of Electrical troubleshooting skills;

High level of Mechanical troubleshooting skills;

Fanuc Control knowledge.

JOB TITLE: Mechanical Drafter DEPT: Design Department Job Type: Full Time Location: Troutman, NC About the Job: The Mechanical Drafter will create engineering drawings of complex precision CNC machine components and assemblies with a high degree of detail. The Drafter will interface with technicians and engineers to gather information for the creation of drawings. These drawings will provide visual guidance for the workers who will manufacture and install the products as well as the customers. Creation of these drawings will encompass 90% of the daily activities of the drafter. This person will also be responsible for updating existing drawings from “red-lined” prints and process the appropriate Engineering Change paperwork. Experience and Skills: Candidate must be detail oriented and highly competent in the development of engineering drawings; Ability to read and interpret all types of drawings and blueprints; Ability to prepare complex detail, assembly, and product drawings; Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) principles and applications strongly preferred; Candidate will be responsible for creating bill of material lists; Completion of a Drafting Technology Program or technical Associates diploma or equivalent experience required; At least 2+ years of directly related design drafting experience; 3D CAD modeling and drawing proficiency required preferably with Autodesk Inventor; Knowledge of Inventor’s modeling and drawing sheet metal functionality is preferred; Must be proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, etc; Excel at working within a team environment and interacting with other design professionals and members of the sales, service, and production groups; Must be proficient in the use of word documents, spreadsheets, etc; Must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and deadlines. Other skills and qualities required: Good interpersonal skills for interacting and coordinating work within the departments of the organization, a team player; Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively; Self-starter a must; Must be able to successfully manage several large projects at once while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. _________________________________________________________________ JOB TITLE: Machine Assembly Technician DEPT: Final Assembly Job Type: Full Time Location: Troutman, NC About the Job: The Machine Assembly Technician must be highly competent and efficient in the ability to assemble precision machinery by hand. This technician will work with team and team leader to achieve team goals and meet or exceed standard metrics and commitments. Personal pride and ownership of producing the best machines possible is expected as are personal improvement goals such as quality and quickness of assembly tasks. Experience and Skills: At least two years or more of precision mechanical assembly experience. Self-starter. Must be able to take initiative to get job done and to out think everyday problems and road blocks while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. Good interpersonal skills for interacting and coordinating work within the departments of the organization, a team player. Need to be able to take direction and communicate well with Team Leader, team, and others. Need to have a open mind and good judgement. Constant improvement of self, team, and products. Need to be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment, good flexibility between tasks. Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively. Need to have good work ethic and reliability. Able to read and interpret assembly prints and instructions. Need to have own basic metric tools and need to know how to use hand tools proficiently. Must be proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, tape measure, etc. Need to be able to maintain good personal Hygiene. Able to stand long periods of time and work on, under, and around machinery. Able to squat, bend and work off ladders and lift 75 lbs. A plus to have electrical knowledge and understand basic circuits knowledge A plus to have experience in wiring machinery. A plus to have pneumatics installation experience and knowledge. A plus to know how to use precision electronic metrology equipment. _________________________________________________________________ JOB TITLE: Electrical Draftsman/Designer DEPT: Design Department Job Type: Full Time Location: Troutman, NC About the Job: The Electrical Draftsman will use CAD software to create new electrical schematics, panel layouts, and cable drawings used for building CNC machine tools.  These schematics will be used when wiring, debugging, and trouble shooting these CNC machines.  This person will also be responsible for updating existing drawings from red-line schematics and process the appropriate Engineering Change paperwork. The Electrical Draftsman will also assist the engineering group in creating and managing Bill of Materials. Experience and Skills: • Candidate must be detail oriented and highly competent in the development of electrical schematics • Working knowledge of industry standards including UL508A, NEC NFPA70, CSA, and CE • Create new electrical schematics and panel layouts and maintain existing schematics based on mark-ups and information provided by electrical engineers and technicians • Create drawings of electrical cable assemblies • Create and maintain Bill of Materials for cable and panel assemblies • Select electrical components and create data sheets used for purchasing • Experience in a manufacturing environment • Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience • At least 2+ years of directly related design drafting experience • Electrical CAD proficiency required preferably with Autodesk, AutoCAD Electrical • Must be proficient in the use of word documents, spreadsheets, etc. • Must be comfortable working in a team environment with changing priorities and deadlines • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
